During the past thirty years I have handled a wide variety of projects in architecture from the design stage through design development, construction documents, bidding, tendering to contract administration. In Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, I worked for known architects where I gained experience in commercial, industrial, airport, health care, daycare, seniors, recreational, public facilities to residential developments. I never stopped learning through my entire career. I always searched for the most challenging projects. My efforts to resolve difficult problems were rarely done on company's time.

After learning several of the earlier CAD programs, I settled on AUTOCAD. I abandoned the drafting board to enjoy the freedom of customizing architecture during the design stage on the computer. Preliminary sketches with a personal style done on the computer can be very attractive. Design sketches done on the computer with the knowledge in architecture will result in good working and detail drawings. Many years ago, I met my dead-lines by cutting and pasting the pieces into drafting sheets. While my colleges struggled with editing and revising their drawings, I produced instant final drawings, something that was often frowned upon. However, it earned me the reputation of never missing a dead-line. Editing and revising drawings, and producing as-built drawings are no longer time-consuming tasks. Outsource CAD drafting in architecture can be done anywhere on a computer.
